Synopsis/Details
Brighton, CT: Assistant Bank Manager Janet London finds her account balance $5,000 higher every day. She can’t track the recipient and immediately knows to keep her mouth shut. After being robbed of a deserved promotion, Janet exploits her position at the bank to launder her new money while anxiously awaiting her benefactor to emerge from the shadows. The cash soon overflows the safe deposit box so Janet converts the overflow to diamonds and gold all nicely laundered. Freddie Davenport, the mayor’s son, reveals himself as the source of the mysterious money. Janet uncovers a bribery scheme involving Mayor Davenport and decides to keep laundering millions with Freddie to revitalize the community devastatingly affected by a factory closure. When Freddie tries to kill her, Janet kills him in self-defense, bringing the FBI into Brighton. Janet needs to hold onto her money while balancing dangerous criminals and the FBI. Freddie’s criminal associates steal all of Janet’s hard-laundered money while implicating her in a new murder, for which she’s drowning in motive. Refusing to be left with nothing, Janet plays the criminals against the FBI to recover every penny and escape without a scratch. Janet starts a new life abroad, completing her total transformation from Girl Next Door into Femme Fatale.
