Synopsis/Details
A successful goalkeeper finds himself helpless in his final years. A journalist, when interviewing him, brings back his memories of the events that preceded and followed the sporting tragedy on the biggest stage ever built, the 1950 Football World Cup in Brazil, at the Maracanã stadium. Set in the city of Rio de Janeiro, the plot reveals social and political aspects articulated by greedy leaders but, mainly, by a communications magnate, who embodies the prejudices and racism of the time and their influence on public opinion. It is also a narrative of redemption, redefining its place in the history of sport.
