Synopsis/Details
KITT KOUGAR (40s), African-American, cabaret singer, the owner of CHELSEA PLACE, Manhattan’s swankiest nightclub, is quite comfortable in her high life-style. Lately, she’s been experiencing some unexplainable events.
It has been seven years to the day, since her husband DR. LEMUEL JOHNSON (40s), noted biotechnologist, was savagely abducted, without a trace, from their Manhattan Riverside Drive brownstone, by impostors disguised as New York Police officers.
During an early morning meeting at Chelsea Place with GIANCARLO SANTINI (50s), the club’s aristocratic general manager, and BIG JOE D’AMATO (40s), the ex-cop bouncer, Kitt finds herself reading Santini’s mind, and answering calls before the phone buzzes, among other things. EUGENIA MCKELVEY (50s), Kitt’s best friend, and Chelsea Place’s star chef, calls to inquire about her godson, JASON JOHNSON (21)— Kitt’s son. Moments later, a panic-stricken Jason calls Kitt, urging her to meet him at once, at the brownstone, where he now lives alone.
At the brownstone, Kitt and Jason meet downstairs in his prized home laboratory. Here, Jason, a brilliant biotechnologist, following in the footsteps of his father, confides in Kitt, secrets he and Lem have kept from her—a life-saving transgenic transfusion that will change her life forever, and the birth of another son Kitt knows nothing about—Jason’s identical hidden twin.
Transformed into SH+AGUAR—a half-woman, half-jaguar super powerful transgenic being, Kitt comes face-to-face with a new kind of life, a different world, and a host of extraordinary challenges and conditions that are far beyond human+.
