Film has an episodic structure similar V/H/S series, but the episodes are connected by a storyline. Throughout almost the entire film, someone, on a computer, watches the video footage. We only see the monitor screen on which the videos are played. The first part of the videos was shot by a group of bloggers who filming videos in abandoned buildings. The videos show them coming across the creature in an abandoned building, which then begins to chase them. The creature looks like a tall, pale, thin man with bestial habits, but with unusual abilities, it can literally disappear into nowhere. At the end of the videos, the creature possesses one of the bloggers. Next, a series of videos shot by a someone David is launched. First, it shows him killing a creature similar to the one that was in the bloggers' videos. He records video reports on the capture of monsters. Then it turns out that he works for a secret branch of DHS, which is studying the phenomenon of the emergence of creatures. This is associated with some energy arriving in our world from another dimension. During another operation to catch the monster, David dies. The recordings show that his partner Steve, who was irradiated with energy and went crazy, was involved in his death. In the last entries, the action moves to Tom, who is one of the key employees of the secret department. He receives David's camera and talks to the head of the department about Steve, who ran away somewhere. It turns out that Steve is the son of the head of the department. The boss fires Tom and orders him not to interfere in their affairs anymore. Tom suspects something is wrong and tries to find out what the Boss is up to. Suddenly for Tom, he runs into Steve. Steve says that he needs to find a certain source, a source of energy. Tom reluctantly agrees. They find out that the head of the department is hiding a device that emits energy. Having reached the device, it turns out that the monster from the first series of videos has already arrived there, in the body of a blogger. The monster enters into a fight with them. Having gained the upper hand, the monster overloads the device, causing a surge of energy, which leads to a cataclysm. At the end, the film switches to regular form. The video was being watched by a survivor in an underground bunker. In the last scene, a group of survivors emerge onto the contaminated surface.
