Synopsis/Details
At Hastings Academy, it's hours before Christmas vacation starts. But for a few students, the boarding school is where they'll be spending the holidays: artistic orphan LILY MARX, mystery-loving MIKE LENNOX, tell-it-like-it-is MONIQUE LYONS, rich bitch JENNIFER HASTINGS, athlete CHARLIE BRUBAKER, science savy ROBBIE CRUZ, and Jennifer lackey WHITNEY ROBBINS. With HEADMISTRESS MORGAN and creepy janitor AL keeping a close eye on them, Jennifer decides to spike Headmistress Morgan's flask with sleeping pills so they can steal her keys, make copies, and have the run of the place. New kid ETHAN LEOPOLD arrives just before the snowstorm hits, and sparks fly between he and Lily, to Mike's chagrin. As the storm rages on, bloodied stranger DUKE arrives, a victim of a car accident. While Headmistress Morgan and Al tend to him, a news story about a mental patient escapee plays…but when the patient's picture is about to be revealed, the lights go out. Headmistress Morgan turns Duke out into the storm, and he threatens them. Meanwhile, at the mental hospital, DR. THORNTON meets with DETECTIVES BILLINGS and PEARSON to discuss her missing patient…who is a murderous psychopath. While the teens spark up drama, Headmistress Morgan is murdered by a man in one of the school's hoodie jackets and a confiscated mask (to be known as The Figure). Jennifer sneaks into Headmistress Morgan's room, thinking she's asleep, steals the keys, and the kids head back down to the school. Al catches them, and blackmails Charlie for money to keep quiet. The kids then split up for their own brand of fun. Al is quickly dispatched by The Figure, and The Figure moves onto the kids. First Whitney, whom he murders by slamming her face into a battery powered table saw, then traps Robbie under a cabinet with acids. Lily runs into Jennifer, and the two enemies find Whitney and Robbie's dead bodies. When they go to the kitchen, they find Al's dead body in the walk-in freezer and notice a broken windowpane… someone broke in. With the storm outside snowing the kids in on both the first and second stories, the girls figure there's no way out. Dr. Thornton and the detectives meet with QUENTIN, an orderly at the hospital, who shows them a news article that sent their missing patient over-the-edge, and Dr. Thornton realizes the patient is on his way to Hastings Academy. The problem: they can't get there themselves. The killer murders Charlie by slamming a weight down on his head, and Monique by knocking her out and dropping her into the pool. Lily runs into Duke, who broke back in, but says a "teen boy" told him to put on a hoodie and scare people or risk being thrown back out. They find Jennifer sitting in a chair in the library, a noose around her neck. Duke breaks down the door…but The Figure rigged it so that Jennifer's neck would snap. The Figure kills Duke, then hunts down Lily, who makes a run for Mike's room. A bloody Mike shows up, as well as Ethan, and Lily thinks Mike is the killer. As he shows her a file that proves Ethan isn't who he claims to be, The Figure shows up and kills Ethan, shoots Mike, and reveals himself to be NATHAN, the son of the man who killed Lily's parents in a drunk driving accident. A chase ensues, ending with Lily causing an explosion on the bridge between the school and the Girls' Dorm with Nathan on it. Lily heads towards the lighthouse, where she alerts the Coast Guard that she's in danger. Nathan shows up. The two fight, leaving them dangling over the edge of the lighthouse. Just when Lily's about to slip, Mike shows up and saves her. Lily lets Nathan go as the detectives and Dr. Thornton show up in a helicopter, and he's ripped to shreds over the helicopter's rotors. Hours later, the two are back at Hastings. Monique is wheeled out, having survived the blow to the head, and Lily tells Mike that maybe it's time for her to get into mysteries and horror movies after all…

The Writer: Michael Marcelin

Michael has been in love with writing ever since childhood. When he was 5, he told a mall Santa Claus that he wanted to be a "novelist" when he grew up. Every chance he got, he wrote short stories, poetry, or short plays based on books and TV shows he enjoyed. As he got older, his love of television and film made him shift his focus to screenwriting...and he never looked back. He studied Screenwriting at the University of New Orleans, and was the first student admitted to the Graduate Screenwriting Workshop as an undergrad. He went on to complete UCLA's Professional Program in Screenwriting, and within a year from doing so, was asked to co-write a low budget, independent horror film that… Go to bio
