
Synopsis/Details
Blood of Brothers is based on the true life story of full brothers Christopher, a decorated police officer and Adam, a drop out and member of the Crips. The story focuses on the effects of loss and how families have tragedy thrust upon them. Christopher is an over achiever, a Jr. police cadet at 14, paramedic at 18 and police offer by 22. He had the charisma of Maverick in Top Gun, minus the good looks, he was stricken with alopecia, but remarkably that never seemed to effect him. Adam his younger brother was more troubled, a kid who had fantasized about being a gang member since he was in 5th grade, dabbling in drugs by 7th grade and failing out of high school by freshman year, shortly after his parents divorce, Adam was a menacing 6’3”, which he felt very conscientious of and as pale as an albino, he struggled with weight issues his whole adult life. He found his home in juvenile hall and eventually with the notorious street gang, the Crips. Their father struggled with depression and their mother remained estranged from the family.
Their lives seemed to settle down when Christopher graduated from police academy, shortly after Adam made a serious attempt to clean up his life. Then their father committed suicide. The effect this had on the family then became a slow burn. Adam was using again, Christopher was drinking, but also took on the responsibility of his younger brother, while managing his job and his relationship with his fiancé.
Four months after their fathers death, Christopher was assented in the line of duty, it made national news, 20,000 police officers attended his funeral. But to the family especially Adam the news was crushing, he was then hell bent of being self destructive and making the lives of his family members painful. Christopher’s fiancé was used by the police to leverage funding, meanwhile she was taken advantage of by a police officer and her home was taken away.
Adam continued to be arrested and wreak havoc on his mothers life, being arrested and incarcerated several times, taking him to the edge of self destruction.
