Synopsis/Details
“BUMPEED" Synopsis by Chad Young Chadyoung1@frontier.com 517-262-3684 Doyle Grayson. A man bored with his life. He is not sure of his purpose or what his role in life is supposed to be. Doyle suffers from extreme depression and thoughts of suicide. He visits Dr. Helen Strauss, a psychiatrist for help. Doyle lives with his girlfriend Alex York and Alex tries to help Doyle and understand his problems the best she can. Doyles parents John Grayson, an Irish immigrant and his mother Lisa Grayson are a typical middle to upper middle class. It becomes obvious Doyle has a strained relationship with his father and after a heated argument, Doyle looks to his friend he met in Alcoholics Anonymous, Chuck Barrow for support. One rainy evening, Doyle is driving and gets into an accident that leaves him in a coma for 6 months. After Doyle comes out of the coma, he soon realizes that he can see and hear the dead. Doyle meets Jack Hardin, a deceased man who acts as a caretaker. Jack tells Doyle of the afterlife along with all of the stipulations that come with it. Doyle decides to try, and help deceased people with their last wishes, which also includes going to the police with information of murdered deceased to help get the case solved. Doyle meets two detectives Jack Rouney and Tom Jackson. The detective dismisses Doyle as crazy but decide to keep an eye on him. After not having much luck with helping the deceased, Doyle decides to try to convince people of the true afterlife without sounding crazy. Doyle tried to convince Dr. Strauss but upsets her. At an AA meeting Doyle upsets a man at the group when he tells everyone there is no heaven or hell. Doyle finds it just as hard to convince people of the real afterlife. After Doyle helps solve a murder that involves someone on the police force, he wins over support from detectives Jackson and Rouney. Doyle now finds he is being hounded by deceased, so he and Alex take a much-needed vacation, but what results are not the rest and relaxation they had wanted.
