
Synopsis/Details
A CALL TO BAR family celebration of CYNTHIA, mid 20’s by the father BARRISTER NELSON, late 40’s. After the celebration, EKAITE the house maid serves BARRISTER NELSON a plate of oranges with a knife on it, MRS LINDA early 40’s, wife to BARRISTER NELSON, offers a divorce letter to the husband who refuses to let her go while the both struggles. CYNTHIA enters the scene and startle at the sight of the father lying dead with a knife beside him.
CYNTHIA push the case to court, putting the mother on trial for the death of the father. No attorney choose to stand for MRS LINDA due to the husband’s influence to the state and the court of law, they sees it as a family issue because of the daughter’s involvement. BENSON, a lawyer who has been searching for an opportunity, jumps into the case. BENSON first encounter with MRS LINDA in the prison also make us to understand that he wasn’t there for just the money and also his reasons are linked to the death of his parents
BENSON stands to be the defendant to the accused MRS LINDA, thereby facing CYNTHIA who is a prosecuting lawyer to the mother MRS LINDA. Hidden secrets were revealed at the course of the trial, MRS LINDA sharing her marriage experiences on how she undergoes Domestic violence and infidelity by the husband.
The pressure became so intense on CYNTHIA, putting her in a dilemma on choosing between truth and lie. She also caught the boyfriend JIDE late 20’s, who is supposed to be her backbone at that moment, having sex with another lady, thereby making the whole situation complicated to her.
JIDE’S action made CYNTHIA tag all men to be scums, she breaks the father’s picture frame and present a closing statement in court, siding the mother.
After the case, MRS LINDA reveals the truth to CYNTHIA behind her husband’s death and CYNTHIA’S true biological father, stating her reason for hiding the truth, and leaving CYNTHIA with a decision to make
