Synopsis/Details
In 1987, Ollie Hooper, a man always looking to elevate his station in life, and romantic partner Dwayne Brenner, a recovering alcoholic who suffers from an unidentified illness, along with Ollie’s two children, move to Larton, a township of some 3,800 souls. Ollie begins a job with the Larton Sheriff’s Department while Dwayne adjusts to domestic life with children. When the brutal murder of a local teen is phoned into the Sheriff’s department, Ollie sees an opportunity to achieve his fifteen minutes of fame by catching the serial murderer dubbed The Visitor due to his M.O. of hiding in the guest room closet until the victim goes to bed. With Ollie wholly consumed by the hunt for the The Visitor, Dwayne begins to drown under responsibility, the endless exhaustion of looking after Ollie’s children, and teeters on failing in both his alcohol recovery and care for his condition when local pharmacies refuse to sell him his medications out of bigotry. Neither man finds relief as the body count continues to rise and Ollie struggles to keep hold of the case.

The Writer: Andrew Saxsma

I grew up in a teeny-tiny farming village (my hometown, yes, is considered a village), outside of Chicago. I was that kid whose dad coached everything from T-ball to high school football for the local school districts, and it absolutely killed him that I had zero interest in sports. After school, I carted myself out to Los Angeles. I've written for comic books, OSA's, directors, lead a team of writers on three different VR video game projects for Oculus, and some novels here and there. I’m grateful for every opportunity I have to tell a good story. Go to bio
