Synopsis/Details
The story of Chymera resembles a combination of Black Mirror and Westworld, without the robots. Cure-X is a Silicon Valley type company located in Santa Barbara, CA in the year 2032. They lead the nation in cognitive analytics, they brag about it. A lot. The technology used at a Cure-X Headquarters has the ability to alter the human condition. They firmly believe it is the future of therapy. A cognitive analyst working at Cure-X has been working on a project in which he takes collected dreams and transfers them in an area known as Chymera. This technology has the ability to not only treat depression but extract any thoughts or feelings connected to trauma. Our story bounces back and forth from the year 2032 and 2017. Every time 2017 is visited, we gain more information about our main characters and even more information of how the world came to be in the year 2032. 2017 shows a dark addiction to cellphones, lack of personal engagement, and more important shows two teenagers that want nothing to do with technology. It's been twelve years since a vaccine was rushed to the public. Some lived, some died, some have side-effects for the rest of the life, some didn't even take the vaccine. An advertising powerhouse worked for the vaccine company and did her best to promote the importance of getting the vaccine. Traditional therapy is on the decline, it's hard to trust these days. Word spreads quickly about the ability to use dreams as an alternate form of cognitive therapy. Physical violence is a thing of the past. Drug and alcohol abuse isn't a thing anymore. However, humans are still greedy and want power of others. The story of Chymera follows the manipulation of what it takes to change the human condition.
