Ahmed "Aki" Aslan hails from the slums of Cairo, Egypt, a place full of wondrous stories, ancient monuments and vendors that sell mystery meat. He now lives in Modesto, California, where the weather gets as hot as 114 degrees, so, his life hasn't changed much. His love of writing started when his single mother couldn't afford books, so he resorted to reading aloud every...single...sign he'd come across as a child.
