Synopsis/Details
Pitch: A sci-fi film in the same vein as "Limitless" and "Lucy." Synopsis: Set in the near-future, Julie Foster is a young epileptic woman who works for her city's health department. Despite being respected by her co-workers (most of whom are robots, mind you), all Julie wants is a way to control her seizures (tonic-clonic, just to be clear) in order to avoid conflict not only within herself, but also with her loving boyfriend Aaron, who also has seizures, dual epilepsy just to be clear. One day on a visit to her neurologist, Julie is offered to undergo an experimental treatment. After reading information given to her and talking about it with Aaron, Julie agrees to undergo the experiment. An implant is placed in her skull, but in subsequent months, Julie gains an unexpected benefit; the benefit being one of the most intelligent women in the country. However, the chip soon malfunctions causing Julie to have bizarre visions of a young girl being violated. The girl calls Julie out by name, but Julie doesn't know who this girl is. How does this girl know her name? Why does Julie not know who this girl is? Or is something or someone else causing this problem? My first script was called "Beethoven and the Pirate" and was intended to be a rom-com about two high school misfits who struggle to come to terms with themselves when they are assigned to work together for a school assignment. I wrote B&TP as a means of expressing my frustration over being a misfit at school and not having the strength to tell a popular girl that I had a deep infatuation for her. B&TP received a mixed reaction at a "cold read" when the workshop finished and was not chosen for a full production. One year later, I… Go to bio
