Synopsis/Details
On a New Earth reclaimed by nature, "The Cradle" stands as the last vestige of the old world. Sebastian awakens from stasis, tormented by fragmented memories of an environmental apocalypse and the tragic loss of Alena, the love of his life. From his archived logs, the reason for his solitude is revealed: a century earlier, a malfunction had prematurely awakened every passenger on the Cradle, reverting them to a feral state. Alena, also affected, died during childbirth, bearing a child that was not his own. Every twenty years since that harrowing day, Sebastian emerges from the Cradle, defying both time and aging. To the primitive descendants of those first colonists, he is revered as a deity. Driven by a relentless desire to be reunited with Alena, Sebastian manipulates her lineage, shaping each successive generation to further bear her resemblance. But as the newest incarnation of Alena develops and speaks, suppressed memories resurface, forcing Sebastian to confront the dark secrets of his past, the true ramifications of his actions, and the emergence of a new human civilization. Novella adaptation of screenplay available on Kindle.
