Synopsis/Details
Criterion is a one-hour sci-fi/thriller series with some procedural elements.
Set in the near-future, Criterion explores several questions:
If human cloning were possible, what implications would this have on society?
And what if that technology was put into the wrong hands?
But, at its core, Criterion is about forgiveness and letting go of the past. Most people tend to carry around guilt and shame from their past. It's part of being human. Criterion is about accepting one's flaws, and moving on. Imperfections are fundamental to what make us all human beings.
Criterion will explore the moral and spiritual implications of human cloning as well as relevant societal issues. Specifically, big corporations working in tandem with the government in order to maintain exclusivity of products that would benefit society as a whole.
Imagine that cloning were possible and that it could essentially heal any human ailment— from Alzheimers, to cancer, to limb-regeneration, and more. But, this technology has been kept secret by the corporation who invented it with the sole purpose of making it "exclusive" and thereby incredibly profitable.
And what if this company would do anything to protect the secrecy of their "product"?
Criterion blends the grounded, psychological and human elements of Black Mirror with the gritty, mystery, and procedural elements of Altered Carbon and the sci-fi elements of Bladerunner.
