Synopsis/Details
Imagine a violent, murderous feud between a Japanese ranching outfit and an Italian oil tycoon in 1918 Montana. My script is called Cut Bank and tells the story of four young men from either side of the feud being conscripted into the army to fight on the Western Front in France. They struggle through basic training, unable to see past the hurt their families caused one another, but eventually find camaraderie. It builds to the final moment when only three of them make it home and their newfound kinship is threatened by their family's old conflict. One of the boys, unable to cope with his trauma and loss, turns to opioids for comfort. The remaining boys make it their mission to help their friend recover, and ensure they all three stay together. Inspired by true events, this script explores PTSD, familial violence, and wholesome camaraderie. A screenplay sure to appeal to those who loved Band of Brothers and 1917.
