Synopsis/Details
Two thugs, one a knife sadist, spy on a scientist, who hands something to a friend. They tail the scientist, see his burning sports car in a deep canyon, and presume he’s dead. Ken, 21, runs into an alley, and a thief knocks him out. A drunk, middle-age Englishman passes out beside him. The Englishman's teen daughter Rachel and her two friends take both men home to recover. Ken has amnesia and suffers lurid, bloody flashbacks of the scientist's friend. Newspapers publish a drawing of Ken, suspect in that man’s murder. Rachel and friends try to help him. Ken raids the office of the murdered man and uses matchbooks from various bars to track down the dead man’s past. At a gay bar, he uncovers the name of someone who might help him, but patrons recognize Ken as the murder suspect. He escapes when the thugs come to his aid. One of the thugs reveals Ken’s identity, and pieces of the young man's memory come together. He figures out that the knife sadist murdered the scientist's friend to steal what the scientist gave him, and the two villains want to use Ken to help them. Afraid for his life, Ken jumps out a window. The two thugs pursue, but Rachel rescues Ken, and they drive away. Ken and Rachel find the murdered man's gay lover, who gives them a flash drive. It contains a demonstration video of the scientist's energy device invention, along with the formula, which could revolutionize the power grid and help environmental causes.  But, the local power company wants to destroy it. Rachel’s computer friend hacks into a database and produces an address list. They hope to find the scientist's house and evidence to clear Ken. The two thugs continue to chase, and Ken and Rachel get separated. The villains kidnap Rachel and demand Ken bring the flash drive to the scientist's house. Ken is intercepted by the scientist, who is still very much alive. One of the thugs spots them and forces the two men inside the house. The knife sadist smashes the flash drive. The scientist overloads his experiment to explode, but he’s shot. Ken kicks the sadist out a window, and the villain falls onto his own knife. Police burst in and kill the other thug. Everyone scatters out of the house, except the mortally-wounded scientist, who stays behind. The place explodes. Police evidence clears Ken. It turns out, he’s a saxophone player, whose recent rock tune, played throughout, is a gigantic hit. His full memory intact, Ken runs out of the police station and into Rachel’s arms.
