Synopsis/Details
Dear Friends Dear Family is a surreal breakup story taking place in the form of a funeral. Joe and Elle are terminating their relationship and invite the people consisting of their former social context to witness their end… Following the ritualistic framework of a religious funeral ceremony, the relationship will first be eulogised by the couple, then mourned by the participants and end up buried underneath the material belongings once supported its existence. The entire act will take place under the evocative sound of power ballads, without which no break up is complete. Balancing between truth and absurdity, this short film attempts to give a visual account of how it actually feels to break up with a loved one.
