Synopsis/Details
The Devil is Getting Married was a quarter-finalist at the prestigious script competition SCRIPTAPALOOZA SCREENPLAY COMPETITION. In the 21st century, Satan has gathered all his followers under a gigantic company group structure. The natural CEO of this well-organized corporate structure is, of course, Satan. Satan is like an introverted, hard-working white collar. His last appearance in the world was during the First World War. In the intensity of the big organization, Satan started to live a hermit life, devoted to his work.
Everything goes very well at first, but over time, Satan, who is used to movement, becomes depressed due to his busy work schedule and boredom. Although he doesn't understand what is happening to him, he can't find a solution.
Fortunately, his faithful assistant Adam, who is always with him, takes matters into his own hands. He says, "Sir, you need a vacation! Satan immediately accepts this idea. After all, even God created the world in 6 days and then rested. Adam, unaware that this would involve him, goes one step further and gives his master the idea of a romantic vacation in Paris. Satan finds the idea of a romantic vacation interesting, but since he hates mayonnaise and pantomime, he decides to go to the Big Apple New York instead of Paris.
Of course, vacationing like an ordinary tourist will never be enough for the Devil. Wanting to spice up his vacation and experience new things, the prince of darkness decides to go to New York and live romantic moments with women. Looking for more specific goals, the indispensable CEO of Satanists is determined to taste love and find the woman of his life. Not to cut corners, he promises himself that he will do it all like a normal person, without using his supernatural powers. Satan wears a ring on his finger that blocks his secret powers and as long as the ring is on his finger, he will not be able to use his powers. But of course, it is up to the Lord of Darkness to remove the ring from his finger whenever he wants.
Taking his indispensable assistant Adam with promises of a raise and promotion, Satan immediately goes to New York. Since he is not customary to clean houses and rooms, our heroes settle in the Hilton.
Thus, Satan embarks on a season-long quest to find the woman of his life. Satan follows Adam's advice that the right woman is found in a flock of humans. He joins sports clubs, Yoga classes, amateur cycling groups, and trekking teams where the perfect woman can be found. He meets many worthy women, including a businesswoman, a psychologist, an athlete, and a priest's daughter, but the result is always disappointing. Something always goes wrong and Satan cannot find the perfect relationship and love he is looking for.
But failure is not the Devil's habit. To achieve success in his love life, he entrusts himself to a personal image consultant and changes his hair and clothing style. Finding a relationship coach, Satan is ready to make every sacrifice to achieve success.
He tries to utilize the opportunities of the internet and social media with the support of his assistant Adam. Satan, who is a member of many dating sites, meets many beautiful, ugly, smart, and crazy potential lovers. He tries to look cute to potential lovers by buying a dog. But when he realizes that dogs do not like him, he brings a dog from hell that he can get along with and that can change shape according to his wishes.
Towards the end of the season, Satan reaches out to Jennifer, whom he calls the woman of his life. Feeling the thrill of love in his heart, Satan must first convince her to go on a first date. After a few dreamy dates, Satan decides to take his relationship to the next level. New problems immediately arise when he meets Mrs. Right's family. Satan is no ordinary groom-to-be. The family is not ready to accept this new man immediately. Satan must convince not only the woman he loves but also her family that he is Mr. Right.
His promise not to use his supernatural powers during this adventure creates many problems for Satan, but in the end, he is the one who has already been banished. And no one dares to criticize the Prince of Darkness for breaking his promise.
During the adventure in New York, the devil runs into his ex-girlfriend Lilit. Lilit's attention is focused on her ex-husband Adam. Wearing the ring that blocks the devil's powers causes the spell he casts on Adam and Lilit to weaken and memories to come to life. In fact, Adam has had his memory erased and has been made a slave by Satan's vengeful magic. He takes revenge on Adam by keeping him around as a loyal slave and making him do work. With the spell weakening in Lilit, she began to remember her first husband Adam.
I think of the Satan gets married scenario as a project that will continue for several years.
