Synopsis/Details
While most people fully integrate into and operate within society, some never truly do.
These individuals live their lives struggling to fit in. Try though they might, in their hearts they know that they are struggling in vain. They are anachronisms that society easily discounts and passes over.
Gus is one such person. He's spent a lifetime trying harder than most to fit in and be valued by the society that surrounds and smothers him in demands of conformity. Now, towards the twilight of his life he's resigned himself to pursuing his dream of exploring the world in his beloved sailboat, Dulcinea alone; much to the consternation of his family.
Life however has a different plan for Gus in the form of an unexpected young protege... a young native Alaskan woman named Amka. Amka is a kindred spirit, she just doesn't know it yet.
Together they explore far-flung, remote places that dot the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean.
Along the way Gus teaches his young friend the hard-won lessons life has taught him.
Amka, for her part learns how to accept her wandering soul and how to live a life that nourishes it.
