Synopsis/Details
On the cold night of January 11, 1966, the sleepy town of Wyanockie, New Jersey, becomes the epicenter of a bizarre and terrifying event. When local residents and police officers, including Patrolman Jimmy Hobbs and his trusted partner Patrolman Paul Stokes, witness an otherworldly light hovering over the reservoir, the community is thrown into chaos. The government swiftly intervenes, silencing witnesses and dismissing the incident as a hoax. But Hobbs isn’t convinced.
As he delves deeper, Hobbs uncovers unsettling patterns—distorted radio signals, missing time, and unexplained power surges—that suggest an encounter far beyond what the authorities are willing to admit. Stokes, initially skeptical, becomes his closest ally as the two navigate the mounting threats and eerie occurrences. His friendship and loyalty will be put to the ultimate test as they uncover the chilling reality of what’s unfolding.
The climax unfolds on a deserted road along the reservoir, where Hobbs and Stokes confront the unknown. As a massive UFO descends before them, time seems to freeze, and the world they knew ceases to make sense. In a heart-wrenching turn, Hobbs, realizing he has been chosen, steps forward and vanishes into the blinding light, leaving Stokes behind as the sole witness to an event no one will ever believe. The film ends with Stokes staring into the empty sky, forever changed by what he has seen, as the echoes of the truth are swallowed by the darkness.
