Synopsis/Details
EMBERS ACT ONE: TRISTAN, 19 and his sister RO, 11, have been sent on a 'run' to gather supplies in the ruined city of LONDON. Whilst out on their run Tristan reminisces about the end of the world under the LONDON EYE. Ro comes up to him and the pair share a brief interaction which is cut short when a group of cannibalistic bandits known as SCAVS approach carrying a bloodied and beaten woman. Tristan wants to avoid the conflict and continue on searching for supplies whereas Ro wants to help the innocent woman, Tristan reluctantly agrees to help and leaves Ro in a safe place whilst he goes off to engage with the Scavs. The rescue doesn't go as planned as the woman ends up being killed and Tristan ends up killing the Scavs. Disheartened Tristan returns to Ro and the pair carry on their run for supplies. Sitting at a campfire Tristan has a vision of his deceased MOTHER who comes and tells him to keep protecting Ro and that they are humanities best hope in progressing out of the bleak bloody situation they are currently in. Tristan agrees to keep protecting Ro and then wakes up as the vision of his mother bursts into flames in front of him. The next day Tristan and Ro hunt a deer, upon killing the deer and gutting it, the deers fawn arrives and begins to try and nudge it back to life. Tristan once again disheartened by this grabs Ro and tells her that its time to head back to camp. The pair end up arriving at the camp and Tristan delivers the deer to camp cooks HENRY and SAM. They thank him and Ro and the pair end up making their way through the camp towards the camp leaders cabin. On their way Tristan runs into an old flame of his MARIA REYES the camps doctor. She explains to Tristan that a sickness is befalling the people of the camp and that she is trying to figure out what it is but doesn't have enough time or resources to as people keeping falling ill with the ASHFALL SICKNESS. Tristan shrugs apologizing for not being much of a help, he leaves Maria and runs into DANNY an old friend who tells him that CUTTER ROYCE, the camp leader is looking for him. Tristan obliges and himself Danny and Ro all go to Royce's cabin. Inside the cabin Royce is drinking and looking over a map of London, Tristan tells him that the run went well but the pair ran into some Scavs along the way. Royce makes a remark about the Scavs being much mobilized and that a war will soon come between the factions of the city, Royce also goes onto state that two camp members have not come back from a run to the Tower and that hes starting to get worried as soon it will be nightfall. Tristan states that he can go and bring back the missing camp members but Royce denies his request saying that he needs to stay. During their discussion a knock happens on the door and its one of Royces guards, he says that one of the missing campers has returned but is not in a good way. The group leave the cabin and walk towards the camps front gate to see ANDY, one of the missing campers who is beaten bloody and has metal rods sticking out of his back. Royce tells Maria to take him to the medical tent and then advises that Tristan and Danny go and find Andys partner SARAH as she is pregnant. The two men agree and leave camp, Ro stays with Maria. ACT 2: Danny and Tristan set out on their mission towards the Tower of London, on their way they have to cross SOUTHWARK BRIDGE, Danny takes up a snipers position on a nearby broken bit of wall and tells Tristan to go across the bridge and that he will cover him if anything happens, reluctantly Tristan agrees and walks across the bridge but gets jumped by four Scavs. These Scavs start to antagonize Tristan who looks around for support from Danny. The main Scav DECKKER ends up punching Tristan in the chest but Tristan pushes him away, another Scav goes to attack Tristan but is shot by Danny. Danny shoots two more Scavs and Tristan knocks out Deckker stating that they could interrogate him for information on where Sarah is being kept, Danny states that the Scav won't talk to them but that he has an idea on who will get him to talk. Back at the camp, Ro helps Maria clean up Andy in the medical tent, Maria makes note that the rods weren't stuck in to kill the man but only to seriously maim him, she can't understand why the Scavs just didn't kill him. Upon taking out the last rod and letting him rest, a ticking sound starts to emanate from somewhere in the medical tent. Tristan and Danny carry an unconscious Deckker to a docked boat, Tristan states that they have to use the boat to enter TRAITORS GATE if they want to see the BLOODY RAVENS in the Tower. Danny agrees and the pair used the docked boat to sail under Traitors Gate and into the Tower grounds. Upon arriving the pair of stopped by a HOODED FIGURE who asks what business they have. Upon entering the tower the group enter an audience with the towers owner EILEEN THE RAVEN. She agrees to help on the condition she keeps the scav which the men agree to, unfortunately Deckker regains consciousness and tries to attack Eileen which results in his death and Tristan and Danny being turned away from the Tower. During their exit Catherine gives them some information that she saw Sarah being taken to WESTMINSTER. Back at camp, Maria finds out that the ticking is coming from Andy, she tries to save the camp by leading Andy towards the main gate but unfortunately gets blown up with Andy. The explosion knocks down the main and allows armed soldiers lead by a man called LUCIUS VANE to enter, he kidnaps Ro and kills everyone inside. Tristan and Danny arrive back at the camp outskirts and witness the carnage, Tristan is grabbed by a wounded Royce who tells him the truth about his mother. Catherine leads them through the tunnels of the underground that leads them to Westminster. She states she will not get involved with the fighting between them and Vanes men. Tristan and Danny bid her farewell and step up to Westminster palace, a shot rings out and Danny gets hit in the throat. Danny dies and Tristan gets kidnapped and taken to Westminster palace. Upon Tristans arrival to Westminster Palace he notices that Royce has also been captured. Lucius remarks that they now have a family reunion and then goes onto kill Royce in front of Tristan and Ro. The Scavs end up attacking the palace and during the chaos Tristan takes Ro and escapes out of a side door. During their escape Tristan is fired upon and a bullet hits his backpack shattering the spare gas mask within. As the pair get to an exit door they see that the Ashfall has begun and Tristan realizing that the spare gas mask is broken gives Ro his instead. The pair run out into the ashfall and onto PARLIAMENT SQUARE GARDEN where Tristan ends up succumbing to the poisonous Ashfall. Ro sobs over his body but is then saved by Catherine who takes her with her back to the Tower.
