Synopsis/Details
An apartment lit by afternoon sunlight & a line of work in front of our eyes. Work of brush against the canvas. Finished & not. Portraits, nature, landscape, abstract. Shifting attention to - a master herself. Stuck (quiet literally) at the chair, facing her new creation. A certain content question remains to be resolved on her mind as she remains looking at the canvas in front of her until - lost within a memory -- Cafe w/ modern setting. Surrounded by strangers. Passing & living. Vibrant melancholy as voices fill the space. Couples, friends, family, by the look of it - everyone's seems to be in pair as - Nothing but an empty espresso cup in front of our heroine. Time passes for no reason nor purpose before - Door-bell - Man enters & unseen proceeds straight to our hero. As he sits in front of her just so suddenly - dialogue begins. They speak in reciting manner. As actors at a table read. Dry, their energy contradict each other to only grow & build in tension. Final 'spark' - waiter approaches the table to reveal an object we have not encounter - middle of the table - timer. Waiter stops it's flow as a direct disruption in the conversation. She persuades & rather impatiently (if not impolitely) interjects 'hosts' attempt to stop the dialogue - which only provokes harsh looks from the rest of present visitors. "Mam, you know the rules" she hears from the waiter. Left without a choice she is forced to leave. Him & resolution of their speech. She exits as -- Back - She is in front of the canvas. A sense of closure, she arrives to the conclusion. Stands up, she lifts the canvas off of the easel & -- View on the graveyard. Empty. Grey-cold. Female hand reaches in & leans the painting against the back of the stone. Painting which is - an Empty Canvas. Fade.
