Synopsis/Details
On a remote tropical island, a secret experiment aims to test a new chemical designed to accelerate plant growth. But the results spiral into an unforeseen nightmare: the substance doesn’t only affect flora—it also alters the genetic structure of insects in the soil. Their bodies grow to monstrous sizes, and their behavior becomes erratic and violently aggressive. The island descends into chaos, transformed into a living death trap. Behind this disaster lies not mere scientific miscalculation, but human greed and deliberate malice. The formula was intentionally modified, with the intent of potential military applications. Driven by power, profit, and political influence, the orchestrators of the experiment ignored the consequences—and now nature strikes back with brutal precision. At the heart of the story stands Dwayne, a former soldier and wildlife protector. Initially sent to stop illegal poachers, he’s soon forced to ally with them in order to survive and uncover the truth. Danger lurks everywhere: genetically mutated ants, mantises, and other predatory insects dominate the terrain. Each step becomes a battle for survival amid a nightmare ecosystem spiraling out of control. Packed with intense action, philosophical undertones, and emotional turns, EXPERIMENT GR does more than portray the fear of physical extinction—it confronts the deeper threat within humanity itself. The film leaves the audience asking: Do we truly have the right to alter nature? Or are we, forgetting how dependent we are on it, blindly authoring our own extinction?

It explores a terrifying twist on entomology, combining high-stakes action with psychological depth. The script has garnered early praise from fellow writers and continues to be positioned for festival submissions and coverage opportunities.

The Writer: RAVAN AKHUNDOV

The core motivation behind EXPERIMENT GR was to explore — through cinematic language — what happens when humanity disrupts the natural balance. This story is not merely about giant insects or the thrill of survival. It’s a reflection on moral collapse, ecological recklessness, the ethical limits of scientific ambition, and the emotional anchor that family bonds provide in a world spiraling out of control. I didn’t approach this project purely for spectacle or entertainment. I wanted it to be a visceral, philosophical experience — one that stirs the audience both emotionally and intellectually. Fear of small creatures often reflects deeper fears within ourselves. By magnifying these… Go to bio
