Synopsis/Details
On the eve of the first anniversary of the biggest event in Christmas
history, Kyria Lucent-Claus grants temporary magical powers to her
sassy dog, Skye, so that Skye can read the latest (and greatest!) tale
in the Christmas canon to the children of Kyria’s Christmas, Inc.
employees. Like all good Christmas stories, this one contains whimsy
and woe (as well as a HUGE battle), but it’s best to start the tale
somewhere near the beginning, when things looked grim and happiness
didn’t appear to exist anywhere in the world, and where one little
boy, Kris Kringle, waits all alone and dreams of a better life. Kris’s
dreams fill the sky with a radiance so bright that a passing young
fairy, Kyria, cannot ignore and she swoops down, following Kris’s
superhero signal, and feels an immediate connection for the blue-eyed
orphan boy. Kyria hovers nearby as Kris grows up and celebrates with
him when a loving couple, Nick and Jessica Claus (of the world-famous
Claus family!), adopt him. Kyria and Kris’s relationship blossoms
through letters and chats as they mature in age until, one day, Kyria
disappears without a word.
Though smitten with Kris, Kyria knows deep down that she must be with
her own kind—the fey—and continue their fight to make sure that good
stays in control of evil throughout the world. While battling a dark
force in a cave deep in an ancient volcano, an elven warlord, Saeros
Warhammer, catches Kyria, puts her in shackles, and siphons her energy
using his black orb of doom—which is pretty terrible for many reasons,
but one major one being it keeps her from Kris. For the first time,
the adult Kyria uses the full force of her fey powers and escapes at
the last moment, duping Saeros’ evil army and setting the other female
slaves in the volcano free. Saeros vows revenge but Kyria has no time
for this evil elf; she’s got a life to live, her own people to care
for, and a relationship with Kris to rekindle. Kyria returns home to
Illuminaria where her father’s none too pleased about her wanting to
date a human. However, with the encouragement of the revered Granfairy
(and powered by a little fairy-style liquid courage), Kyria pursues
the man of her dreams, crashes the date he’s on, and finally—
thankfully!—shares a kiss with Kris so filled with chemistry and magic
that it sparks. The two fall further in love, get married, and take
over the Claus family business. But, this is not happily ever after,
not yet at least...
At work, Kyria finds her stride as the CEO of a global industry—like
Martin Shkreli—but she’s beyond determined to champion the sick and
subjugated unlike some CEOs that care only about profit and neglect
their human employees—like Martin Shkreli. Instead, Kyria creates and
nurtures a culture of equality—in the office and at home with Kris—
while lovingly curating Christmas Town, the only place on Earth where
it is Christmas every day. Since Saeros feeds off of the energy of
others, Kyria and Christmas Town naturally become his most important
target and he works out a strategy with the help of his minions.
Saeros slithers into Christmas Town and kidnaps its efficient guardian
Mayor Tilde while also poisoning the eggnog enjoyed by the masses.
Mayhem ensues as people, fey, animals, elves—even Kyria and Kris—
bicker and fight, giving Saeros the distraction he needs to swallow
all of the energy in town, which signals the end of Christmas, Inc.,
Christmas Town, and Christmas worldwide forever! Since Kyria’s
defeated Saeros by herself once before, she plans to do so again in
order to keep others safe, but finds herself unable to overpower him
on her own this time. Instead, Kyria tries to unite the troops of
every race, species, and creature on the side of good for one final
showdown with Saeros and the forces of evil so that the day will be
saved—which may or may not be possible. (Careful. Better scooch back.
You’re getting rather close to the edge of your seat there.) With the
help of Granfairy and her trusted white wolf, Kyria wages an epic war
against Saeros, but that’s only half the battle as everyone will have
to forgive each other and forge ahead to restart production at
Christmas, Inc., restore Christmas Town before Christmas, and reignite
the spirit of light that the world needs. Ultimately, good triumphs
over evil and the children listening to Skye’s story celebrate Kyria’s
victory with cheers of joy on the eve of its anniversary—right before
Christmas!
