Synopsis/Details
In a world ruled by gods and corrupt kings, a young and unproven General of the Rosarian kingdom is sent on his first mission: to lead a newly founded army to the port city of Sunport and suppress a goblin rebellion. Eager to prove his worth to King Vytas, the General sets out with high hopes—but the mission quickly spirals into a nightmare of bloodshed, betrayal, and not-so-moral decisions.
As he struggles to inspire his men, the General's own doubts begin to eat him alive. His inability to write a motivational speech becomes a symbol of deeper insecurities about his leadership and purpose, but when he improvises a speech, it becomes the symbol of his truthfulness and loyalty. When the army finally lands in Sunport, they discover a city burned and people killed without second thoughts, hinting at a much larger and more coordinated invasion than they expected.
Amid this chaos, the General's battalion captures a goblin named Kryll, who, after some bribing, warns the General and his officers about a massive war starting and a plan that spans beyond just simple goblins—an organized force of orcs, ogres, shamans, flying artillery, and more could join them. Tensions rise within the ranks as personal identities flare, especially when a soldier named Lucas is accused by his friend of having goblin ancestry.
As the army tries to build their camp and the tension between the officers and the General starts to rise significantly, they are ambushed by a goblin force, and the General gives the order to attack almost instantaneously. At first, archers begin to shoot down enemies, then the General, without a second thought, sends wizards and warriors into the battlefield. The General rushes in with his soldiers but is stopped by his officers. When he sees how his fellow comrades start to fall, the General decides to charge into battle to help his men. The episode ends in a shocking twist: after the General kills what he believes is a goblin, he removes his helmet and discovers that he has slain a fellow soldier from the Rosarian kingdom.
Fall of the Kings is a dark fantasy tale about the burdens of command, the price of loyalty, and the line between heroism and the horror of war—and what it feels like to be a soldier in an environment where death and misery are a daily routine.
