A group of teenage boys – MARCUS (19), JESSE (18), ZAD (18), LUKE (18) DAVE (16) – are chased down a quiet country road by GUNNER, DRAVEN and TJ, a rival gang. Marcus and friends escape to the woods, leaving Dave to the mercy of Draven and friends. Draven humiliates Dave by forcing him to strip. He and Gunner then jump into the 4x4 and their buddy TJ (20) drives off. The 4x4 overtakes a transit van driven by JET (44) a brutish Albanian people smuggler. His nephew, ASTI (24), skinny and pasty-faced, sits in the passenger seat, enduring his uncle’s bawdy aphorisms. They have a cargo in back: a feisty West African woman named WINNIE (20) and a simple sixteen-year-old Eastern European called SORINA. The van gets a puncture and Jet pulls over. While Jet is changing the wheel, Winnie manages to engineer an escape. The women tie up the traffickers and run into the woods. Less than a mile away in the same woods, Biology graduate CHRIS (22 ) is teacher his feisty girlfriend LUCY (19) archery. Lucy’s from mainland Europe and pretty much ran away from home to bum around the UK ‘finding herself’. She’s smart, though. Chris is a rebel at heart – deals dope to help pay for his MA – and likes the risky things of outdoors. TJ has pulled over in a small car park on the edge of the woods. The boys are discussing whether to go in after Marcus and co. Draven, always on a mission, makes his case and the other two fall in line. Meanwhile, Marcus and co sit around drinking, chatting, laughing about what just happened. Jesse shows them the handgun he pinched off of Gunner and nearly shoots one of his buddies by accident not realising that there’s one bullet left in the chamber! While Winnie and Sorina cut deeper into the woods, Jet and Asti manage to get free of their binds. Jet digs out a spare handgun from under the driver’s seat and they head off into the woods to hunt down their missing cargo. Marcus and friends chance upon Chris and Lucy having sex in some ferns. When Lucy fights with Chris five minutes later and storms off, the boys follow her. As all four vectors dive deeper into the woods, they draw closer and closer till they collide like heated atoms, setting of a chain of violent events that only great acts of courage – and some timely good fortune – to neutralise.
