Synopsis/Details
Arhant Brown is a Brit-Indian teenager who looks Caucasian, unlike his sister Emma, who appears Indian. His mother, Reema, is Indian, and his father, Rick, is Caucasian. They are divorced, but Rick takes an active part in raising the kids. Arhant hates him because he left the family for a 22-year-old girl. He calls his father - Sugar daddy. Arhant took a year off from college, became obsessed with social media and is now an influencer with almost a million followers. A brand offers him 50 grand for a campaign if he reaches a million, and Arhant’s obsession doubles. Meanwhile, Rick gets him an internship at a top firm, which Arhant is not interested in. Rick coerces Arhant into a bet - make 25 grand this week or delete your profile and join the internship. If Arhant wins, Rick will never interfere in his life. Arhant’s Alzheimer-ridden Grandma is the star of his profile, and she gathers the maximum number of followers with her cute videos. But she is time travelling in her memories and has not recognised Arhant for almost a month. Until she recognises Arhant and makes a cute video with him, he isn’t going to make the remaining quota of followers and reach a million. But Grandma is leaving for India in a couple of days. That’s a big dilemma. His mother is going on a date after decades, and Arhant’s influencer girlfriend Sarah is helping her out to get ready. Arhant and his friend decide they will use G. R. R. Martin’s advice to Kill your favourites and close the chapter of Grandma in his profile to gather sympathy and an abundance of followers. When she sleeps, they will record a video of her and pretend she died of a heart attack during her sleep. But Grandma is in 1940s India in her head. Any Caucasian is a British officer in her eyes, and she is a freedom fighter - the extremists who hated the British coloniser. Arhant tries different ways to make her sleep to make the fake death video, but it all backfires. Finally, Arhant cosplays his Grandpa and slips in sleeping pills with her meds to make her sleep. They make a fake Grandma’s death video and post it online. The post goes viral, and Arhant starts gathering new followers. But in a sudden turn of events, Sarah reveals to the world that Arhant killed his Grandma to gather followers. The parents, friends, cops, and everybody else get involved, and Arhant’s life turns upside down. The Grandma isn’t breathing. In this chaotic situation, Arhant goes through a whirlwind of emotions and is reborn a better person as Grandma survives the medical concoction.

The Writer: Pradip Atluri

Born a dyslexic in the cramped yet spritely chawl of Mumbai, to a produced writer/director of theatrically released feature films and OTT-released web series, Pradip had experienced the lowest lows and highest highs of varied degrees with a light and humorous approach. Daydreaming in trying situations became the backbone of his storytelling art which led him to Toronto Film School from where he graduated with honours. The same diversified experiences help him bring out complex characters stuck in weird yet realistic situations where the cause and effect of their decisions run the structure leading to a change in their overall personality for better or for worse. He loves world mythology,… Go to bio
