Jenny’s written a card to go with this news, both the test and card are safely tucked inside her rucksack. As the girl gang strut through the playground, the card to John falls from Jenny’s rucksack, picked up by Meg. The gang turn on her; she’s beaten up in the school toilets, with the contents of her rucksack strewn across the floor, including the positive pregnancy test; Meg reviews the test; as Jenny lies on the floor Meg kicks her hard on the stomach and places the test in her pocket. The brutal attack is stopped by a teacher, where Meg professes, she’s Jenny’s best friend! As Jenny is placed into the ambulance John is devastated, however, Meg plays her trump card, she produces the positive pregnancy test, claiming it’s hers in a baby trap situation, John, under pressure stays with Meg. Jenny loses the baby at ten days old, where she’s told this is due to natural causes. She turns to drink, alcohol and prostitution over the next ten years, she ends up living on the streets. Meg and John marry, however, she had to concoct a lie to lose the baby. Now she can’t conceive, she is under IVF, which is unsuccessful. Meg trained as a nurse working in prisons. 10 years on, Jenny is offered a place in a rehabilitation centre to get clean. Detoxed, she does well and is offered a role as a volunteer in HMP Midlothian Prison, she sets out on a road to being clean and straight. Her social worker Callum is on her side; she hopes to be kept on as a support worker. Things are looking up! In the meantime, the new HMP Midlothian Prison team leader, Meg Matear arrives, Jenny’s new boss, they meet for the first time in ten years. Jenny wants revenge, she also wants to stay on the straight, the temptation is too strong, she believes the kick killed her baby and wants Meg in prison, not as a nurse, but as a con. A battle ensues, Meg has the power, or so she thinks and wants rid of Jenny again, this time for good. Let the battle commence.

The Writer: Anna Grey

I started writing 20 years ago; on a more serious level 10 years ago. I've attended a few writing courses, some good and some not so good. I've used a script editing service, which has been a great decision, and have built a good relationship with them. I was born in 1960; deemed a dunce at school before we knew about dyslexia. I have never let this stop me, in fact it has driven me more. I resonate with drama as a genre; however, enjoy comedy too. I am very proud to be nurse for 40 years. I have had my fair share of rejection, but remain a hard working and dedicated writer. Go to bio
