Synopsis/Details
Pamela and Denise Falkenberg are two sisters living in L.A. and live two different lifestyles. Pamela works as a cashier at a gas station. She spends most of her time watching "Laverne and Shirley", has very few friends, and lives with her older sister, Denise. Denise, on the other hand, considers herself "the tiger lady." She is obsessed with looking attractive, daydreams about boys, is highly competitive, and always being the best that she can be. One night at Denise's house, the two sisters fight over the remote control; Denise wants to play video games with her date, Brian Christiana, while Pamela tries to tune in a "Laverne and Shirley" marathon with her friend Tracy. Pamela memorizes every single episode and wants to watch the marathon so she could win $10,000,000 and a trip to Milwaukee. During the fight, the remote flies out of their hands and smashes the new 4K T.V. that Denise recently purchased and cannot be fixed till the next day. Suddenly, a mysterious delivery man shows up at the door with a big package in his hands. He quizzes Pamela on "Laverne and Shirley" before she opens a package and finds a brand new 4K T.V. inside. The delivery man leaves and the two sisters continue to fight. However, through some mechanism of both the T.V. and the remote control, lightning strikes the Falkenberg home and causes an electrical mass on the T.V. The bolts of lightning coming out of the T.V. strikes both the ladies transporting them into the T.V. set, ending up in Laverne and Shirley's apartment. Pamela attempts to beg the delivery man to take them home (communicating with him through Laverne and Shirley's small 50's style television) but he vanishes leaving Pamela and Denise trapped and they are now forced to act like Laverne and Shirley. Denise and Pamela begin exploring the city and sights of Milwaukee and expose to the city's issues such as masturbation, technology, personal rights, acceptance, and same-sex marriage. Milwaukee soon begins to slowly change and previously 50's style objects and fashion begin to transform into rad, 80's looks. Denise takes over as owner of the Shotz Brewery and fires Lenny, Squiggy, and Pamela on the spot for disruption in the break room. Right after Lenny and Squiggy demanded Denise to hire them back, she develops a romantic relationship with both Lenny and Squiggy and offers them more upscale positions as co-owners. Denise throws Pamela out of her apartment as Lenny and Squiggy have moved in. When the delivery man returns and berates Pamela for altering the show, she turns off the TV, relinquishing her ability to go home in the process. While the mayor is concerned, people in Milwaukee begin to explore hidden abilities and revel in their new freedoms. Certain citizens such as Officer Norman Hughes and Muriel remain unchanged. Behavior similar to religious protests against the LGBT community begin to occur, incited by a nude statue of Edna standing outside of Laverne's father Frank DeFazio's pizza restauraunt; the statue is destroyed by throwing it inside through the doors and the restaurant is destroyed. Laptops, cell phones, computers, and any kind of new technology is burned and anyone who is dressed in 80's fashion is sexually harassed in the streets. Denise and Pamela become strong leaders, advocating resistance to the "Code of Conduct", a list of regulations preventing people from purchasing new technology items and visiting the drive in movie theater, playing new wave music, and using abstract designs. Laverne/Denise, Shirley/Pamela, Frank, Lenny, and Squiggy are arrested and tried in court for violating the hardcore conduct, but everyone's styles and personalities in the court room changes. As Denise throws battery acid on Mayor Tim's face, his hardcore barrier strips away and he leaves in horror as his new rocking 80's style shows off. Eventually, the entire city is filled with new businesses such as a shopping mall, two floor gas station, and tall glass skyscrapers, and the citizens of Milwaukee are introduced to the rest of the city. An electronics store now comes into play displaying 4K televisions, computers, video gaming systems, tablets, and smartphones. Denise and Pamela now develop a sense of belonging they lacked in reality. Denise decides to get married to Lenny and Squiggy and move to Miami with them to start new talent careers as she bids farewell to her sister Pamela, Edna, and Frank, but Pamela promises to come visit Denise in Miami. Pamela chooses to stay in Milwaukee to marry Carmine and open up a talent agency. In Miami, Denise, Lenny, and Squiggy are enjoying their new freedoms, personalities, and relationships together as two husbands and one wife. Back in Milwaukee, Pamela and Carmine/Edna and Frank get married at the same time at the same wedding. The Shotz Brewery has now replaced human workers with robotic machinery. Pamela and Carmine run their own talent agency and Carmine teaches music class. Frank runs his own sculpture studio to display his sculptures to the public.
