Synopsis/Details
A dark comedy / mystery, set mostly in a Sussex forest in modern day England, with a small yet colourful cast, inspired by actual legends and interwoven with the atmospheric poetry of Percy Shelley and William Blake who once lived in the area. A character study of a rambunctious man who struggles to fit into society, a lost soul with a combative, yet curious nature and an acerbic wit, seeking his purpose in life. With additional themes of unlikely friendships, folklore, the failings of social welfare, and escaping the ‘system’. Though the protagonist is currently English, it would be feasible for him to be a North American who came to live in England as a teen (for example). Whereby giving the film more international appeal. Many Americans are very passionate about exploring their British / European lineage so there’s certainly a market to be tapped into there.

The Writer: Dan Kemp

Executive producer by day, screenwriter by night, renegade the rest of the time… But mostly, writing movies and dreaming of sharing them with the world. I grew up on 90's action and family adventure movies... I've since broadened my horizons but still value stories with colourful characters told in real world settings. I also love serious drama coupled with well timed comic relief, so “comedy realism” is a tone that features in much of my work, as does magical realism. I studied screenwriting in night classes to advanced level at Central St Martins College, London 2012-2015. I’ve since had great feedback on some of my projects from senior execs at Searchlight, Dreamworks, Warner Bros and… Go to bio
