1 EXT. HIGHWAY - DAY
superimposed over: crescent city, california - 1968
1 million new cars are moving through the abandoned
New Orleans/New Orleans Parishse municipal traffic,
flow, roll, move, move. The gas tank of the sixties
Toyota Land Cruiser flies by, fuel flying as it eases
from the idling engine, leaving the gas tank. The camera
continues panning past the empty vehicle to find.
. the once proud boulevard, now rundown and abandoned,
with only the single, yellow, flower-resting tree.
The pavement was once beautiful. maybe because of it.
But when you put blood into a windshield you run the
risk of popping your head. closer to that tree and
finally. there it is. The one person who ever lived,
if he was not a one-game loser, the number one loser
in the history of the New Orleans sports world. He
died in '68. homer horden (40), greying hair and bushy
moustache. His mind is made up, still very much in
love with his wife, tara (33). Somehow, he made it
through their divorce and three years of marriage,
he still has them.
