Synopsis/Details
Hitler was dead. Or was he? With the charred remains of a body as the only physical evidence and with Stalin claiming that Hitler had escaped from Berlin, rumours that he was still alive persisted. To put an end to this unwanted speculation, disguised as a British Intelligence Officer, MI5 agent Harold Cooper is sent by Churchill to Germany. His mission was to find sufficient evidence to prove once and for all that Hitler had died on the 30th of April 1945.
Secreted into Berlin as a member of a Royal Signals Unit, realising that his only hope lay in piecing together indisputable circumstantial evidence, Harold set about his task. After gaining access to the Fuhrerbunker, where Hitler had allegedly committed suicide, finding little there to help his inquiry, his next step was to interview the people who had been there during those last fateful days. Fortunately, several were in Allied hands and slowly piece by piece Harold was able to gather sufficient evidence to prove that Hitler had indeed taken his own life. However, in solving one mystery, what he had not expected was to unearth another. A mystery surrounding a missing woman and the suspicion that her disappearance could hold the key to something significant. What that might be, he had no idea but Harold suspected it could be important, very important.
Lacking the opportunity to pursue the matter himself, years later after reading through the notes his uncle had left, his nephew Rex Dundas a freelance journalist, decides to take up the challenge of solving this mystery which had eluded his uncle for so long. A search that would lead to a meeting with the missing woman’s daughter, Lotte someone who would not only become an unexpected ally but also the love of his life. A willing companion in the quest to uncover the truth about her mother. A quest which would eventually lead to a discovery that would change both of their lives and expose a secret that people were prepared to kill to protect. A conspiracy that would see the re-birth of Nazi Germany with Hitler’s son as its leader.
