Inspired by true events, How To Birth A Baby is a contained thriller set in Bangkok, Thailand, amidst the military coup of 2014. It shows the grit, fear and determination of a squeamish husband to pull his pregnant wife through a complicated labor, while keeping a gang of locals out. Synopsis: Tommy Basie is a South African architect living in Thailand with his pregnant wife, Rachel. She goes into labor just as a nationwide riot breaks out. With plans originally laid out for a home birth, the couple await the arrival of a midwife to pull Rachel through the labor. When the midwife doesn't make it, Tommy tries to get his wife to a hospital. As they step out, Thai Armed Forces show up and blast insensately at local protesters. Terrified, Tommy and Rachel hurry back inside. Now with no available options, Tommy is compelled to pull his wife through the labor, as threats of a placenta abruption looms, and the potential birth of a still child and the loss of a mother.
