After Rui finishes his final A Level paper,he realizes that further education/ university isn't for him. However he remembers his dream , that his mother rejects and forces him to go to university as "There's no future for people who don't go to University". He still holds on to that dream. Rui decides to celebrate finishing year 13, and postpone confronting his mum, at Nandos with his friends Joshua, the calm and rational humanities student, and Callum, the arrogant perfectionist STEM student, who obsess over going university for different reasons.
