Val and Renn are mid 30 year old "up to no good kind of guys". With a passion and dream to become criminals they set out around town looking for anything that can classify them as such. Unbeknownst to them is a rivalry between two business men, Mike Bollsteen and Lou Johnson, that has lasted for years. When a floppy disc is stolen from Bollsteen that contains very important cliental from the mind of a master criminal, Kurt. We follow the floppy disc hidden in a bag of diamonds. While Lou has the bag of diamonds at his office he speaks with Kurt and forms a plan to relay his portion of the diamonds. Lou finds a floppy disc packed away with the diamonds. Lou, being in his old age and a not so well heart, becomes nervous and anxious knowing the consequence of having such high end business information of his competitor. Kurt notices a tail on Lou Johnson by Bollsteen's men, a couple of agents, that now scope and follow Lou's every move. Kurt is not the kind of man to be taken out that easy. While Kurt drives and in a phone conversation with Lou's young wife, Claudia, who has played Lou for a while to get his money, Kurt crosses paths with Val and Renn. They are hired for the job to retrieve the floppy disc, this is their chance at being real criminals as they have always dreamed. By hiring complete idiots for the job the plan goes haywire and everyone involved searches for this missing disc. Val decides to take a different direction than Kurt's advice which leads Val and Renn on Kurt's hit list after they help him find the disc. In the end we find Val and Renn questioning if being criminals are what it is cracked up to be
