Synopsis/Details
Twenty-something, single and only child Ben Bailey is at a crossroads in his life. For a long time he’s experienced nothing but misfortune and bad news. Parents dying, girlfriend breaking up, car crash, living paycheck to paycheck, Ben has certainly had a bad run. While sitting despondent on a park bench and when all seems lost, Marvin magically appears alongside him. Marvin is wise, understanding and has a little surprise only for Ben. Marvin informs Ben he has a magic bag containing 100 chips. 100 chips Ben can cash in one at a time whenever he wants and wherever he wants. Each chip can make something good happen instead of bad and Marvin assures Ben it will change his life. Ben has his doubts but takes the bag. Thus begins a new adventure in Ben’s life where all good things finally happen. Job promotions, lucky breaks, a new girlfriend which leads to a whirlwind romance and marriage and a house and kids. It all seems like the chips are working in his favor and as he gets greedier and cashing in his final chips, he’s on top of the world. But just as soon as the chips are gone, Ben will suddenly discover again, life is not always fair. His wife has cancer and there’s no more chips to bring good news and save her. Despondent again, he pleads for Marvin to help just a little more. But this time, Marvin has a couple other surprises in store for Ben and it has nothing to do with chips. A final message from Marvin leads Ben to try to save his wife’s life, and in turn, finally live his own.
