This is a script about debt. Despite being written a number of years ago it remains a relevant subject due to current levels austerity and loan use in 2020. Junction 6 is a one location examination of the relationship pay-day lenders have with families, especially those on a low income. The script is primarily based around a father who's resorted to payday loans to support himself and his family. From there more loans were taken in order to repay older loans, the spiral of debt is uncontrollable. That father is Darren. We meet Darren on a day where he meets the consequences of his lending. Craig and Frank are bailiffs. They are sent to reclaim what belongs to their bosses. Darren, Frank and Craig spend the day together discussing not only the predicament but also options out of the debt. Darren is given a final option. If he takes himself out of the equation then the debt clears and his family are given a clean slate.
