No-go, Inner-city sink estate – drug dealing, mugging, rape, burglary. 'Crime scene do not cross' tapes. Graffiti? Hoodies lurk in dark shadows, glint of knife. Everyone terrified behind barred doors. Calls on girlfriend, spy hole, multiple bolts on door, highly cautious father. Junior, 17, black, nerdy, moon glasses, coming home in the dark from school on a bus reading Popular Electronics. Lives with his mother who grows lots of plants on balcony, window sills etc. Confronted by gang who rob him and beat him up, take iPhone and push him down stairwell. He crawls upstairs to his flat bleeding. His mother is appalled. He witnesses other crimes. Man stabbed while trying to prevent three men from breaking into his van. His girl friend attacked, he confronts attackers and is held over balcony by one leg. Sees the black armoured drone on YouTube. Finds credit card. Ebay montage scrolling through hitting ‘buy it now’ over and over. He buys a luxury drone, tasers, pepper spray and other electronics. Many parcels arrive and his mother is concerned where he got the money from. In his bedroom he assembles the black drone and takes it for a test flight in a quiet park nearby. Then he bolts on the video camera, tasers, loudspeaker, pepper sprays and shotgun mike. A gang of youths are stealing tyres from a jacked up car and are warned off by the drone. When they try to attack it they are pepper sprayed. Junior, dressed in black and balaclava sees a mugging in progress from his balcony and launches his drone, controlling it using an ipad. The mugger, the same one who stole his phone, is armed with a knife. When confronted by the machine he treats it as a great joke. Hitting a ‘voice changer’ button, through its loudspeaker Junior warns him to back off. The mugger lunges at the machine and is tasered, writhing on the ground in pain. Many other confrontations. Burglar climbing through window, drone flies at him. Burglar falls backwards. Cop is saved from heavily armed drug dealers but the drone is destroyed. Junior is devastated Police call about credit card purchases and learn about drone. He is let off and given community award. Gets even better drone. Lots of footage from swooping drone and great rock music.
