Synopsis/Details
Doctor Hope Thorn is a picture of composure - an esteemed therapist leading a secluded rehabilitation retreat for recovering serial killers. She believes she has buried her violent past, having transformed herself from a notorious killer into a beacon of control and redemption. But the retreat is her grand experiment, not just for her patients, but for herself. A final test to prove that she can cure others of the very darkness she once embodied.
When a murder disrupts the fragile peace of the retreat, the facade begins to crack. As more patients die, suspicions rise, and Dr. Thorn finds herself between maintaining her professional mask and suppressing a rising internal storm. Her favorite patient, Lily, discovers the truth and is accidentally killed in the aftermath; forcing Doctor Thorn to confront the brutal part of herself she tried to repress. With each step deeper into chaos, Thorn returns to private rituals, flashbacks of her abusive father, and a mantra that no longer soothes. The killings continue, and her descent is inevitable.
By the end, Thorn no longer fights the monster within, she makes peace with it. After killing Felix, the survivor of one of her original killing sprees, and burying the bodies, she emerges reborn: composed, confident, and coldly self-assured. A year after the original killings, Doctor Thorn greets a new wave of patients with a serene smile, fully transformed into the predator who's learned to smile while sharpening the knife. Her journey is not a redemption arc, but rather a chilling evolution masked as therapy.
