Synopsis/Details
Benjamin Chacko, the protagonist, has a tragedy in his past. The events of 9/11 tip him over the edge and he gives up his life in America to return to India, his homeland, where he travels through a remote region of the Himalayas. The narrative covers his journey with flashbacks depicting his past love and her death and ends with his new life as a monk.

The Writer: Reny Ninan

In 2004 I self-published a work of fiction that's essentially a travelogue through a small part of the Indian Himalayan region. This was intended as a vehicle for my thoughts on religion, philosophy, the meaning of life - all in response to the Iraq invasion, which I felt was absolutely outrageous.
