Trina, a tired, emotionally isolated woman in her 60s, receives a key and a cryptic note leading her to an abandoned video store seemingly stuck in the 1980s. Through inexplicable phone calls, she speaks with her long-gone son, still 17 as he was when he died 30 years ago. In several conversations, Trina seeks answers, closure, maybe just a chance to place blame. Things happen for a reason; she's mistaken about what the reason is.

The Writer: Manuel Royal
Manuel Royal, like Tristram Shandy, was born with a broken nose. This led naturally enough to writing (with a few decades off for life experience and reflection).
His first love is science fiction, but Manuel dallies with many genres and is fascinated by what accumulates in the tide pools between genres. His output has mostly been short stories, but also several comedy pilot scripts, and one short comedy/sf script produced by SandJack Productions (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmwhBok5vYU). He is currently at work on a contemporary novel with fantastical elements. Go to bio
