Synopsis/Details
After Carol drops her daughter Nicola at University she returns sadly home. Her house is now empty, cold and lonely. With Nicola gone there's space now for Carol to think about things she has tried to keep out of mind for years. From Carol's first night alone, the doors in the house open and close by themselves. There's nothing random to their strange behaviour; there's a method to it, and soon Carol knows for sure just what the message is. The spirit leads Carol to a box of long-kept things. Mementos of her long-ago life. Sad trinkets. Baby shoes. Old letters. Newspaper cuttings. Carol is now sure where the spirit wants her to go, and she knows that she must. So she leaves, and drives all night. The next morning, Carol has arrived at a hospital. She goes inside for the first time in forever, and makes her way to visit somebody who has been waiting for her for a very long time...

The Writer: Brendon Connelly

Brendon Connelly is a scriptwriter and writer from Norwich in the UK. He recently graduated with an MA in Creative Writing from UEA, previously graduated from the University of Oxford with an Undergraduate Diploma in Creative Writing, and prior to these years of study, spent two decades working as a film journalist and blogger - during which time he met Kermit the Frog three times, though only fainted one of those times. Much of what he writes is a mystery... that is to say, in the crime and mystery genre. He once described his favoured protagonist as "What if Nancy Drew but working class...?" Go to bio
