Synopsis/Details
"Love Psycho" embodies the spirit of "Sex in the City" meets "Dexter." It follows Izzie, a millennial, relationship influencer who relishes her fame and standing-room-only lectures. Her best-selling book, Love Psycho, preaches the art of owning your baggage and embracing one's inner crazy-person to help power through a radical change in relationship patterns. But after Izzie stumbles upon her second consecutive boyfriend performing a brutal murder, she's visited by the humorless Agent Dolian of the FBI. Dolian briefs her on his recent discovery: All of her past romantic partners are serial killers, hiding under aliases. He offers her a job as an FBI consultant: Go out into the world, fall in love, and rat them out. She can keep her life of cocktail parties, lectures, and blowing up on social media, but she'll be on the clock for the FBI, 24/7. Meanwhile, Emilia, a young, hard-hitting journalist (who's trapped writing the relationship column at Cosmo) has it out for Izzie and is determined to prove to the world that she’s a fraud. As Agent Dorian had hoped, Izzie immediately falls hard for someone new. Unfortunately, Izzie isn’t ready to accept that she's cursed with an attraction toward serial killers… and she refuses to upend this (most likely) innocent man's life by turning him in. So, she enlists her dopey, Jason-Segal-lovable best friend, Jordan, to infiltrate the world of her new love interest to get to the truth. Together, they bumble their way through grand schemes, ruses, and precision tactics to exonerate this sweet, lovely, unsuspecting suspect who is absolutely not, in no way possible, a total psycho. Except, he totally is. I believe this television series, with its embarrassingly relatable and surprisingly tragic characters, will captivate within the growing space of episodic, TV-MA, dark comedy/mysteries.
