Synopsis/Details
Only 1 location (house); all interior shots; female-driven, HORROR; only 6 characters; previously optioned by United Foreign Media in 2016. When Martha’s Dementia turns into aggressive Alzheimer's, her grandson, Michael, and his girlfriend move in after the recent passing of Martha’s previous caregiver (Michael’s mother). Michael, who’s still trying to cope with his mother’s recent death, must put his grief (and his girlfriend) on hold to deal with much more pressing issues: Martha's hallucinations and paranoia. But when Martha befriends a little girl, who’s a spitting image of Michael’s mother as a child, Michael seeks guidance from a longtime family doctor. However, when the doctor suggests that the root to the disturbing behavior going on in the house is much deeper than Martha’s clinically diagnosed disease, Michael must uncover the one memory that HAUNTS the house every waking hour. Martha's Memory is in the vein of THE TAKING OF DEBORAH LOGAN, THE VISIT, & THE SKELETON KEY, but with its own unique (& very much original) twist and approach.
