Synopsis/Details
Through a fluke of science, SERENA POWELL becomes the first person to ever age in reverse. MAYBE DECEMBER is a magical love story about her journey as she befriends a reclusive, young paramedic embroiled in his own personal war on death. In the span of ten months, Serena's body shifts its biological clock from eighty-one-years-old to twenty-two. Desperate to take advantage of her second chance to live fully for the first time, she attempts to woo the paramedic. Initially mortified, he does his best to flat out avoid her, but is eventually forced to face his own feelings, prejudices and emotional scars. either of them is prepared for the psychological ramifications of her age reversal, the alarming side effects of her condition, or the researchers hot on her trail, desperate to exploit her in the name of science. MAYBE DECEMBER is an offbeat, character-driven romance about accepting the hard truths of our own morality and embracing the precious moments of life -- a modern HAROLD AND MAUDE. UCLA screenwriting chair Richard Walter said of the script: ”Remarkable... I enjoyed it immensely... This script reminds me of COCOON reimagined... The ending is spectacular... brilliant... I think this script has enormous commercial potential because it's a great part for an actress."
