Synopsis/Details
Inspired by the cinematography of Call Me By Your Name, Me Gustas Tú aims to capture the same emotional depth, reflecting the beauty of fleeting connections.
Chie, a young black European woman, travels to Spain for a two-week holiday. She meets Enrique, a charming local, after an unexpected encounter over dropped churros at a cafe. They quickly become close friends.
As Chie immerses herself in the vibrant culture of Andalusia, she forms a bond with Enrique that deepens through shared experiences: riding rental motorbikes, exploring markets, dancing at lively gatherings, and embracing the warmth of family life in Spain.
Meanwhile, Enrique’s mother, Carmen and his close friend, Rosa push for a romance story, through Enrique and Chie assure them that their friendship is purely platonic. As the days go by, Chie is faced with the bittersweet reality that her time in Spain is coming to an end. In the end, a small, sentimental parting gift—a churro keyring—symbolises the humorous and beautiful friendship that they've had, giving Chie the chance to reflect on the moments that defined her journey.
Although there are subtle undertones of romance, at its core, the film is about embracing the rare beauty of deep platonic friendships and cultural exploration. This film explores Chie and Enrique's evolving connection without leading into a conventional love story, challenging typical romantic narratives.

I'm just looking for feedback and constructive criticism for this idea, and possibly expanding it towards a feature-length film rather than a short film. Thank you!
