Synopsis/Details
In rural Montana, sentimental JOANNE purchases the home where she spent her summers with her grandparents. LITTLE JOANNE plays with fireflies and enjoys pancakes with her NANA. The adult Joanne meets a hard-working FARMHAND repairing a hay baler and befriends him. Back to Joanne’s childhood, it seems that her Nana has passed, but it’s really Joanne’s younger brother, JOEY. Joanne blames herself for Joey’s death. The Farmhand helps her face the past. Back as a child, while playing near a ravine with Joey, Little Joanne throws a stick into a tree, disturbing a beehive. The angry swarm of bees attacks Joey who has a severe allergic reaction. The Farmhand convinces adult Joanne that she wasn’t responsible. In the end, Joanne forgives herself and we realize that the Farmhand was the ghost of Joey all along.
