
Synopsis/Details
Moonstar is a satirical romantic comedy set in Miami via summer 1996 & follows a ballerina named Joan Priestly who is currently engaged to an Englishman named Evelyn Windsor who owns a bookstore/cafe/record store called Bookends in which her sister (Antoinette) & cousin (Kathy) work at but, gets into a bit of a situation after meeting a girl named Ryan Lorencio at ballet practice. Once this occurs & after she runs into her at said bookstore, they start an affair in which Antoinette, Benny, & Kathy all catch onto it but, she doesn't tell Evelyn. Joan lives with her fiancée Evelyn, her 19-year-old little sister Antoinette with a little drama in her life, Antoinette’s boyfriend Benny who is an adult film star & their 16-year-old cousin Kathy who even while only visiting for the summer discoveres herself during the short time that she’s with them. She feels a bit iffy about her engagement to Evelyn once she starts hanging out with Ryan more considering how much pressure is on them to get married oh so soon which stresses her out a bit since her answer is always I don’t know. During the height of her summer, she finally tells Evelyn about her feelings & about Ryan in which they break off the engagement & she also moves in with Ryan for a bit until they have a little falling out. Joan & Evelyn eventually make up which ends with them getting engaged, leaving all pressure to get married behind them.
