Synopsis/Details
In the near future smartphones have been replaced by neurolayers, a personal device directly connected to the brain. Hiro, a hacker who has figured out how to infiltrate them, hiding his consciousness into other people’s minds, finds himself in the middle of a series of mysterious murders that unveil a terrifying new nanotechnology developed by Crimson, a major global corporation.
Hiro draws up a plan to destroy all the company data and ruin their operation. A plan that requires infiltrating and taking control of Tucker’s brain, Crimson’s cyber-augmented chief of security, the person sent after him and the only one with access to the company’s central servers.
Everything gets even more entangled when Hiro discovers that Ella, his old lost love, is unknowingly working for the same corporation he’s trying to destroy. As his obsession for her gradually jeopardizes the plan and turns her into Crimson’s main suspect, Hiro needs to risk his cover, his life and the whole operation to stop her from getting caught in the crossfire.
At some point, while Hiro’s mind is inside Tucker, something goes wrong and the hacker’s physical body disappears. From there comes a mind-bending race against the clock to find out what happened and return to his body, before Hiro’s and Tucker’s minds merge together permanently into madness.
Impossible escapes, mind-swapping sex devices, glitches in reality, fights to the death with oneself… All while the lines between their separate minds, between reality and delusion, weaken with every step.
