Synopsis/Details
What happens when your life is at a standstill, and feeling desperate for a change means any chance to break free from your past sounds like a good idea?
Nicky Johns wakes up every morning feeling like his life is shit. He hates his dead-end job, misses his estranged wife and kids, and lives with his alcoholic father. Desperate to move on with his life and leave his past behind, his chance comes when he rents a building and turns it into an after-hours club, he hopes will help him forget his past and give him a shot at the new life he desperately craves and needs.
Growing up in the streets and his aunt’s restaurant, the nightlife is the only thing Nicky was ever good at. Together with his pal, and co-worker, Bennie Simms, he embarks on a dangerous journey into a lifestyle of sex, drugs, and violence, climaxing in his world turned upside down and out of control, forcing him to find out who he is the hard way, at a cost, even too high for him to pay.
NIGHT HEAT is an emotionally intense, character-driven urban drama about loss and ultimate redemption, taking one last shot at life, and rolling the dice-- win or lose. It is based on my personal experiences owning an after-hours club for nearly ten years.
My experience as a writer includes a M.A. In Creative Writing (Screenwriting), from Southern New Hampshire University. My first screenplay, “Naked to the Night” was awarded finalist in the New York and Hollywood Screenplay Contests for 2017.
